Ground for Legal Dispute: Manipulation with Words Limit to Create Resubmission

The editorial team of the journal changed the status of the submission to resubmission based on instructions that did not show in the submission guidelines. More specifically, the editorial team sent a request for resubmission with the instruction of “8,500 words excluding tables, references and figures”, despite that the instructions are “The Australian Journal of Management publishes original research. Articles should typically be around 8,000 words, but longer articles may be accepted if the length is relevant to the contribution”. Besides, according to the instructions longer articles may be accepted if the length is relevant to the contribution, so WHO decided that the length of the paper is not relevant because any editor did not handle the submission due to the resubmission. Note, at the end of August 2021, the submission guidelines did not include any instructions regarding words limit, so how long before this submission, the journal added the instructions about the words limit, still, the journal ignored the question when the journal introduced the words limit. Moreover, the initial checking of the words limit was taken 6 days since the submission, so accordingly, any submission in the queue that was submitted after this submission did not suppose to go through initial checking before this submission unless the journal held this submission without initial checking for 6 days, while later submissions in the queue were handled before this submission.
