03 September 2022 at 04:13. The story of the Israeli occupation of Palestine is a very good example of why one nation should not occupy another nation because of its military capabilities to do it without any defence reason. In the six-day war, in 1967, more than 50 years ago, Israel decided to invade Gaza, Rafah and Judea and Samaria without any defence reason, only because of its military ability to do it. Worse, paradoxically, Egypt and Jordan were glad about it, especially Egypt, because since the occupation, Israel should handle the Palestinian problem instead of Egypt in Gaza and Rafah. Since then, countless Israeli soldiers and civilians have been killed and wounded because of this useless occupation, while for more than 50 years, the Palestinians have suffered from harsh occupation without decent freedom and human rights and with too many to count Palestinians that have been killed and wounded in their fight for freedom, only because of the Israeli attacks to keep this useless occupation. It's a lose-lose scenario. The late former Israeli PM Ariel Sharon understood it at the end of his life, so he led the unilateral evacuation of Yamit, but he did not complete the ending of the occupation because of his health situation. Since Sharon, Netanyahu led the Israeli occupation of Palestine to the worst stage for both sides, so until today, both sides pay a high price for continuing this useless occupation. It will never end until the Palestinians get their freedom. How we know it. Because of previous numerous cases of colonies worldwide that fought for their freedom until they became independent countries. Paradoxically, like Israel, which fought via military resistance against the British Mandate until Israel got its freedom and became an independent country.
However, the Russia-Ukraine war has changed the geopolitics and global order in a way that it strengthens the dual superpowers of Russia-China, including strengthening the relations between the triangle of Iran/Russia/China, which is going to impact the Middle East, especially due to the forming of strategic relations between Russia and Iran. That's because Iran is a prominent Islamic country that for long opposes the Israeli occupation of Palestine, while Russia for long has strategic interests in the Middle East via its loyal ally, Syria. However, not only Iran has pushed to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine but also many other Islamic countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Iraq. My prediction is that the change in the global order could lead at some point, sooner than later, to an all-out war in Israel to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine that may include Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iran, and even other countries in the Middle East, depending on the political situations in the countries. Israel used to attack Syria and Palestine, including Iranian targets, but under the new order in the Middle East, Russia no longer will protect Israel as it did before, so one of these Israeli attacks could trigger an all-out war in Israel. Nevertheless, it could happen via one of the repeated clashes between Israel and Palestine that will trigger an all-out war, or even if a regional war starts in the Middle East due to the conflict between Iran and the West. Obviously, World War III will give the opportunity to the enemies of Israel to take revenge because everyone will be busy on various fronts.
Unfortunately, It will be pointless to suggest Israel to end the occupation. Still, ending the occupation will decrease the risk of harsh all-out war in Israel. At least, it will be wise for Israel to understand that the geopolitical order was changed in the Middle East to avoid acts that will trigger an all-out war in Israel.
