CARICOM - Caribbean Community and Common Market
The Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) is an economic and political alliance that was established in 1973. CARICOM has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) among its members. CARICOM includes mainly members with very small populations (see below), either UN Members or Colonies with the aspiration for self-determination. Importantly, CARICOM provides a trade platform for the Colonies that allows them to become economically independent, which is contrary to the Mercantilism that is supposed to keep the trade of the Colonies under the control of their sovereign states.
