Qualifying Industrial Zone (QIZ)
Trump’s Trade War has led to the situation that all the USA’s Free Trade Agreement (FTA) are not de-facto active anymore, because the Import Tariffs that imposed by Trump violate the FTA, which applies also to QIZs (After US Tariffs, Egypt Seeks to Amend the QIZ Agreement), still, keep in mind, that there is still a dynamic in relation to the Trump’s Trade War including in relation to the QIZs.
Note, Amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East, over the last years, governmental authorities rarely published data about the QIZ, while newspapers and journals rarely published news or articles about this topic, so there is no updating about the Qualifying Industrial Zone (QIZ).
The USA has numerous Bilateral Free Trade Agreements with various countries Like many other countries, yet on contrary to Russia and China that put emphasis on Multilateral Trade Alliances, such as BRICS and SCO, then USA has only rare Multilateral Trade Alliances, such as the USMCA and the QIZ, still, these Multilateral Trade Alliances include only triple countries and not many countries like BRICS and SCO.
QIZ Qualifying Industrial Zone includes two separate Free Trade Agreements, namely between the USA, Israel, and Egypt, as well as between the USA, Israel, and Jordan, which are both based on the Free Trade Agreement between the USA and Israel. Thus, based on the QIZ, Egypt and Jordan get access to the USA market via Israel. Palestine that includes the West Bank and Gaza Strip is part of the QIZ between USA, Israel, and Jordan. The QIZ was established to give an economic boost to the Peace Agreements between Israel-Egypt and Israel-Jordan.
